A crucial step in becoming a Christian is to understand that we are not perfect. The truth is that we are all selfish. Who among us can say that their life is not driven by self-interest or desire? But the Lord offers us forgiveness for all that we have done wrong. We should remember that and turn to Him instead of despairing over our own nature.
